Georgia Clay

Meet The Band

Tammy D. (Lead Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Percussion)

For those who think a big voice and powerful stage presence can’t come in a small, 5’ 2” package, you obviously haven’t seen Tammy in action. Imagine a genetic cocktail that includes Pat Benetar’s vocals, Britney Spears’ stage antics, Miranda Lambert’s sassy demeanor – and a canon! I think you get the idea. As the lead vocalist for Joy Ride over the past 2 years, this is one front-woman that knows how to work a crowd, literally joining them on the dance-floor and involving them through every aspect of the show. From sing-alongs to dance-off’s, Tammy is an entertainer at heart! Having grown up immersed in music as she fine tuned her skills singing alongside her dad’s cover bands, performing at major university events, and as a lead vocalist for Shelby’s Voyage. She brings her, soulful voice and infectious energy to every stage she steps on. Just don’t let her modest height fool you. This is one female singer who looms large on stage!

Matt Cote (Lead/rhythm Guitar, Fiddle, Vocals)

With plenty of experience on stage and a Bachelors Degree in Guitar Performance from McNally Smith College of Music, Matt brings his passion and knowledge of music to every show he plays! Matt is currently teaching guitar at the School of Rock and most recently was playing bass guitar in Joy Ride! Prior to joining Joy Ride, Matt played lead/rhythm guitar for Iron Horse and has played in several local bands, including Citizen’s Arrest, Shelby’s Voyage, Three Dollar Bill, and several original alternative rock bands. Matt’s musical expertise stretches far beyond the lengths of his guitar, as he also enjoys playing the bass guitar, drums, and fiddle! His passion for music and professionally trained hands, come together to make this one unforgettable guitar player! You must see him in action!

    Mark Courtney (Bass, Banjo, Vocals)

Mark joins us after recently playing with Sterns County 17 and the Hillbilly Maffia! Unlike most bass players, Mark isn’t afraid to ’step-up’ and interact with his audience. In addition to being our bass man, Mark also plays the guitar, banjo, dobro, harmonica, jaw harp, and kazoo. I think we’ve said enough...you’ll have to come witness THIS for yourself!

    Bruce Campbell (Drums/Percussion)

Bruce ”Boom” Campbell is a veteran of the Twin Cities music scene. Starting in the 80’s, he performed with Jet Screamer. From there he joined the hard rock band Attica and recorded an album with them titled “Hell to Pay.” After Attica came Bad Animals, a tribute band featuring the music of Heart. He then moved on to Smithtown, a high energy rock/dance band until it disbanded last year. Boom’s father was a country musician so it was inevitable that, at some point, he would have a hankerin’ to join a country band. When he found out Georgia Clay was looking for a drummer, he answered the call and the rest is history. Boom’s grooves will have you rockin’ on the dance floor all night long!
